The first step is to determine your insurance coverage and if nutrition consultations are covered. Fortunately, many insurance companies have coverage for medical nutrition therapy counseling with a registered dietitian, as low as $0 per visit.

We are currently accepting original Medicare insurance! For nutrition services covered through Medicare, you must have a referral from your healthcare provider (MD or DO).

Nutrition counseling for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) stage 3, 4, 5 (non dialysis), Diabetes Mellitus Type I and II, and post kidney transplant within 36 months are covered through Medicare. No other medical diagnoses are covered.

A total of 3 hours in the first year and 2 hours of nutrition counseling in subsequent years are covered.

After you book an appointment with us, you will receive further instructions through our HIPPA-compliant patient portal Practice Better.

You will receive an email with a request on completing a short intake form, medical history, eating habits, and dietary preferences. We will gladly answer any questions or concerns about completing the forms.

As part of your nutrition journey and health goals, we also offer meal planning through the Eat Love portal, where you are able to view specific meal plans based on your individualized nutrition needs and chronic medical conditions, tailor your meals, specify dietary restrictions and preferences, and many more.

Whether your nutrition goals include weight management, diabetes, or you’re looking for low FODMAP dietary guidance, meal planning can be an excellent way to re-organize your pantry staples and create balanced, delicious meals that you and your family will enjoy.

A credit card will be required to be put on file to hold your appointment but no charges will be placed on your credit card at the time of booking.

Our team dedicates specified time slots for consultations and we believe your time is just as important. But we also understand that life happens and there are situations where you may be unable to make it to your appointment.

There are no charges for advance cancellation or rescheduling greater than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

In case of a no-show, your credit card will be charged with a cancellation fee of $60. Our team will make every effort to reschedule your appointment prior to charging a no-show fee.
